Two-Wheeled Revolution!

Mar 19, 2009 by     No Comments    Posted under: Span That World

Gear up for a two-wheeled revolution!

Join the 2009 Otesha UK cycle tours!

Want to do something fun, challenging and worthwhile with your summer?

We’ll be taking in the delights of the UK from our saddles, performing a play, making the world a better place, learning new skills (bike maintenance, theatre, consensus decision-making, group living… the list goes on), meeting new friends, and generally making mischief…wait, did we mention that you’re invited?

If you’re 18 to 28 and passionate about creating a sustainable future, then come ride with us. Find out more at www.otesha.org.uk/cycletours. Places are first come, first served, so get your skates on! If you have any questions or would just like to have a chat about it, then give us a call on 0207 841 8939.

Description of different cycle tour routes:

1. Join us in June and July as we make our way around the wild, wonderful coast of Wales. You can expect beautiful beaches, crashing coastline, green, leafy cycle paths, undulating hills and a learning day or three at the Centre for Alternative Technology, Howies (the ethical clothing company) and a permaculture farm. Plus, really, really friendly Welsh people.

2. Or go for an exciting mix of the rural and urban on our Northern Soul tour. We like to call it the rurban tour. Make your way through the beautiful Welsh countryside before living it large in Liverpool (the capital the culture dontcha know?) and then meandering along the Mersey to Manchester. The icing on the cake is a tour through the amazing landscape of Derbyshire, where you can eat Bakewell tarts and pretend you are in a Jane Austen novel. Oh yeah, and you’ll be doing the play and learning stuff too.

3. In August and September, come along for a jaunt around East Anglia. It’s flat as a pancake and one of the sunniest and driest areas of the UK! Expect a lively mix of organic gardens, wind farms, community events and maybe even staying in a tipi at a world famous roman archaeological site…

4. Lastly, consider a highland fling with us through Scotland. Get inspired by the arty stuff going on at the Edinburgh Fringe, indulge in a spot of street theatre and then hit the road! The cities of Dundee, St. Andrew’s Stirling and Glasgow are all on our hit list, with the unavoidable, incredible, rolling countryside in between.
