Stop The Traffik @ DF Camp
Posted under: At Althing 2008 two campaigns were chosen for the coming year. One was No Nuclear Future – The other was Stop The Traffik. Over the year Affliliations rep Conor Whelan worked damn hard to forge links with the organisation which despite its high profile is run by a small core of dedicated staff.
At North West Thing Jakinta Kent from Stop The Traffik ran a stirring workshop around how to campaign and make a difference in a personal capacity. Impressed we desperately wanted to learn more and invited Stop The Traffik to DF Camp to run bigger workshops to really push the issue among members of our movement.
We were literally ecstatic when the news came through that Stop The Traffic were coming, arriving the night before and getting stuck in with the evening programme. The next day they ran two powerful workshops that took the camp by storm. Everybody was talking about them. One DF said:
“I though i knew a lot about this issue. Now i realise how much more there is to uncover. That was a brilliant workshop & perfectly pitched”
