Last friday Gina and visited a local radio station for an interview on the gig. The show featured songs from most of the artists who performed and an incredible live performance from Gina. Download the podcast via rapidshare with this link

Canada’s

Best I could manage this year was advertise the Woodcraft Folk in a bar for like 10 minutes…I played a few songs and for a while people listened, but it was also the night that Canada won so everyone was a bit crazy. It was taken at O’byrnes pub on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday February 28th.

I did my best, but I promise definitely by next year I will have a lot more power and promotion leverage. Guarantee. So keep me listed!

Enough love to keep you going when you can’t find none,
What do you guys say…Blue skies?

Edinburgh
Hidden away upstairs at one of Edinburgh’s true treasures, the Forest Cafe, the night was definitely one to remember. I’d watched Bridget and the DFs plan for this for months and it was brilliant to see it materialise, suddenly there was atmosphere in the empty room; bunting, banners, baking and bands! The people on the door were busy giving out leaflets and information to those who asked, taking donations (they almost made back all the money they put in!) and counting numbers (over 150 at one point). Meanwhile the crazy cake ladies kept the banter going and created a hub of infectious atmosphere. The sofas were laid and the night started with some beautiful acoustic music. Thanks to Neus who started with some Spanish songs, we don’t know if she went wrong but she sounded amazing. Then the organiser got up and did some impromptu duets with friends and a wee solo about making tea. Lorena Bechelli serenaded us on her keyboard and when the ceilidh band was late – Humphrey (who was incredible) – jumped in at the last moment. The chairs were cleared and everyone danced like loons, honestly, it was a sight! The dancing continued a Edinburgh University Drumming Society filled the room with rhythm.  The old church which was initially freezing was suddenly sweating, and we were in need of some chilled blues. The senior group from the younger DF’s college joined us and the night began to wind down. It was lovely to see a mixture of people from 15 to 50 and everyone I spoke to was having a brilliant time. People wanted to know when the next one was happening and at least now everyone there knows who the Woodcraft Folk are, that they’re here and how to get involved…Finally a massive congrats to Bridget who stressed but we’re all very proud of her for what she and her friends created!
