Midlands Thing

So, as a small mass of DFs ascended upon a beautiful, well equipped (and familiar to some) campsite and barn, set in the Derbyshire Dales, the story of Midlands Thing began.

The location was lovely, and easy to get to, and the accommodation was a single room, with 5 triple decker bunks, a kitchen area, a garden table and a Sky Equipped TV. Although this had a cosy feel, it meant that once Jack’s alarm had been going off for more than 10 seconds, everybody was awake! This meant business could start on time, and we made good progress. We finished before dinner, and then with the evening ahead of us, we all headed out into the local village of Birchover, to a village carnival.

The small woodcraft contingent were the first people to dance, and thus encouraged the whole crowds to get jiggy with the live bands. Without us, you could tell it would have been uber boring.

Great thanks are owed to Ros for organising and sorting out the food, and of course to all those who came along to take part in the important progressive meetings for DFs. Jack will write a summary of the minutes for DF News, but a full version is available on request. We look forward to DF Camp and Althing 08!
