Leaders’ Training

Jan 14, 2010 by     No Comments    Posted under: Span That World

When?

Easter weekend Thursday 1st April until Monday 5th April

Where?

Amelia Trust Farm, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan (transport provided from Cardiff)

What?

Every year UNA Exchange runs international voluntary projects around Wales. Through partner organisations abroad we recruit volunteers who then come to work on a community project in Wales. These projects work on a wide range of things, from play schemes in the valleys to maintenance of footpaths and cycle trails in the Afan Forest or building roundhouses in the North of Wales.

Each international project also requires a group leader, someone who can deal with any problems that may arise as well as being a point of contact between UNA Exchange, the volunteers and the host organisation. UNA Exchange therefore runs a leaders’ training course every year to train group leaders for these international projects. The leaders’ training course will cover a variety of issues from conflict management and cultural understanding to group games and cooking! The weekend will sometimes be hard work and demanding, but we hope that it will also be a lot of fun, rewarding and a great way to meet new

friends.
