Kettled Generation
Inspired by the SpanThatWorld.com reports on DFs who were taking action across the country in response to Government Cuts to education the Woodcraft Folk Press Team have launched “Kettled Gereration” a constantly updated Protest Watch that’s trying keep track and show off all the protests, walkouts, occupations and direct action that young members of Woodcraft Folk are involved with.
Kettled Generation started with the fantastic message from General Council supporting the young people of Woodcraft who choose to take action against the cuts and from there is has snowballed to fast changing hub of information. Messages have been pouring in all day from DFs across the nation and more are still coming in.
Now the protest watch is starting to grab the attention of others outside of Woodcraft. Its been getting mention through blogs, across facebook, twitter and The Guardian. Its the first time that Woodcraft Folk has grappled with this kind of media which is largely inspired by SpanThatWorld.com and we’re hoping to use it to tell the world about all the incredible protests children and young people are making happen but also show that Woodcraft Folk members are supporting each other across the country to empower young people to make their voices heard.
