Get involved this summer: Teen Tent @ Tolpuddle
In summer 2010 I was the only member of the Woodcraft Folk to do Worker’s Beer at Tolpuddle Martyr’s Festival. Much to my surprise, I came across a very lovely bunch of Woodies, running a children’s area at the festival. After speaking to Tanya Harris and some of the other adults, we decided it was high time to have some fun activities specifically aimed at the teenagers…
And this is where YOU come in: the wonderfully talented members of the DF Movement (and not forgetting the wonderfully talented Kinsfolk). I am co-ordinating an AWESOME Teen Tent in the summer of 2011. I need ideas and lots of them…amongst all the crazy activities the tent has to offer, there will be crafty art activities, a lively repertoire of games, possibly a chill-out area and a spot of changing the world (think protesting/banner making).
Tolpuddle Martyr’s Festival will be held this year on the weekend of 15th-17th July. You will of course have the opportunity to check out the festival, which was established, both to celebrate trade unionism and also to remember the sacrifices made by the Tolpuddle Martyrs way back in the 1800’s. You need to be free to spend a weekend in Tolpuddle, near Dorchester on the weekend of 15th-17th
July 2011

You need to have a valid CRB check with the Woodcraft Folk.

Only over 16’s with bags of enthusiasm need apply!
