DFs have a Bank Account

Nov 30, 2009 by     1 Comment     Posted under: Uncategorized

DFs have finally got their own bank account, thanks to the efforts of previous treasurers and current treasurer who have been able to convince central Woodcraft that older young people and young adults should have their own bank account, meaning that at a national level we finally come into line with most of the local DF groups,  or for that matter most of the individual DFs reading this!

The separate account with the cooperative bank (obvious choice really), means that it is very important NOT to send cheques for DF Events to Head Office because the money will end up in central Woodcraft’s account not with DFs who need the money to run all the amazing Events that we all enjoy. The fact that internet banking is also availiable for the account means that the long and sometimes worrysome (as in, unless my money comes soon I’ve got nothing to pay my rent or buy my food with) wait for fairer fare pool or expenses money should be a thing of the past, because it no longer depends on when Head office can ‘get round to it’. Its also much easier to know how much money we have its no longer just some of the money in central woodcraft’s account but all of the money in the DF account.

There is also the possibility that events could be booked and t-shirts sold online once our web kids have the time, energy or whatever else they want or need to get it done, in the mean time, if you know how to drive this kind of thing forward, and have the time and energy sign up to the communications posse.

On the whole, the fact that DFs have their own account is excellent for many reasons. But it is a shame that it didn’t come with a big pile of money to help take us from an awesome bunch of people who do awesome stuff to an awesome bunch of people who do stuff that’s better than awesome.
