DF song

Feb 9, 2009 by     1 Comment     Posted under: Span That World

We are looking for a song that sums up DFs. This may seem hard as DFs are so varied and awesome that they cant be summed up in a mere song, but we’re certain it can be done.

The song should explain in some way what DFs is about.

It can be long or short, phat or thin, bangin’ or bouncin’,  rhyming or not

You can either video your self singing the song, record it as sound, or write it out.  If you want, describe a song it has a similar tune to.

Any songs received will go on DF Web, and the winner wins a free ticket to an event (event to be confirmed)

So go on, off you pop and get started

Send your work to communications@spanthatworld.com

Rapped, to the tune of “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”…

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute, just hear my first draft
I’ll tell you all about a group called WOODCRAFT!

In west side of London born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And preaching equality outside of the school
When a couple of guys said “you know you should…”
“…join the woodcraft group in your neighbourhood”
I went to one little session where the leaders are prepared
It became a regular thing, as nothing else compared!

I whistled to the tunes around the campfire
Growing up with it, I learnt to inspire
If anything I could say that group was rare
But I thought nah forget it, hats off to the chair!

I pulled, many a time (about seven or eight)
It really doesn’t matter if you’re gay or straight
Looked at my movement, I was finally there
A part of DFs, nice people everywhere!
