The District Fellows movement is just a tiny part of an international collection of similar movements. The International Falcon Movement – Socialist Educational International (IFM-SEI) is an umbrella organisation for child and youth-led movements all over the world, educating on the basis of our shared values of equality, democracy, peace, co-operation and friendship.
The IFM-SEI and it’s member organisations , including the DF movement, aim to ensure that children and young people are well informed about their rights and are empowered to ensure they are respected. To reach this goal, the IFM-SEI organise a variety of international activities including seminars, training courses, international camps and conferences.

As well as access to these opportunities through IFM-SEI, the district fellows movement is also involved in the international organisation WWOOF (http://www.wwoof.org/) which aims to provide world wide opportunities on organic farms. Every year there are several wwoofing trips which DFs organise. In the past DFs have gone to Spain, France and Norway, but the world is literally our oyster as there are wwoof organisations in most countries around the world. We could go to Costa Rica, Cameroon or even China!
Wwoofing involves working for board and food usally learning about sustainability and organic food and ecological living. All we have to do is get ourselves there, in a hopefully sustainable way!
If you are interested in getting involved in wwoofing, this summer, there is already a trip going to Norway and another planned to go to the south of France. Please get in touch if you are interested! international@spanthatworld.com
On top of this, I hope to bring an international delegation to DF camp 2012! And hopefully create a wonderful sparkling DF GAP YEAR PACK which will help you to explore our wonderful world though the woodcraft folk, there are opportunities to work in countries around the world though woodcraft!
