WOW, you’re actually reading this! Yay!
I’m Ilya, your new training rep.
I can hear the chorus of
“Training? B-o-o-o-o-r-i-i-i-i-ng.”
But I denounce this travesty, and reply
“Basically if you can learn something, you can probably call it training!”
So; fancy a particular workshop on camp? Perhaps: filming, breakdancing, critical thinking or becoming spider-man? I can chase it up for you. Unfortunately the spider-man thing might be a little hard (I’ll still try!), but you can definitely become a hero by learning first aid, something I’m obliged to provide.
Maybe you think skills in debate, being part of a committee, or in media production would be great life-skills? Yes? Then even a whole weekend could be arranged!
Remember, Woodcraft Folk is an educational charity, and I plan to bring this back into focus. Learning can be fun, I promise.
At the fore-front of my duties this year is creating a skills database, of DFs past and present, and affiliates who can pass on their skills. I’ll be working with Susie on this.
Got a skill? Got a lead on someone with a skill? Contact me!
I’m also my own person. I: have been part of Exeter Woodcraft since I was just 4 years old; enjoy singing; have unusual trousers; love my girlfriend, Issy; and am the youngest member of committee, far less scary than all those old people!
xx

DF meetings usually consist of a group of like minded individuals meeting up at a regular time and place (someone's house, or a pub for instance, or even a community hall if the group is large enough) and taking part in usual woodcraft activities. These activities range from co-operative games, orgainising events, workshops and discussions, and general socialising!
The DF movement also meets up on a national basis frequently, to hold both social, educational events and business events allowing everyone to be involved in the running of DF's...
