I’m Bridget your international opportunities representative for the year ahead. I’m currently studying Geography and Anthropology in Edinburgh, learning about other countries in what is technically another country, so a good start I know
I’ll be in charge of all the overseas communications schtuff and getting you all excited about the fact there’s a big world out there right at our fingertips and we have so much to explore, both as individuals and as an organisation…
Potential things to keep an eye out for will be: wwoofing trips, international camps, hitchhiking advice, how to travel sustainably, possible delegations (here and there), workshops on international issues and speakers from international charities based in the UK. Also look out for an Span That World With Music going global, or atleast reaching Scotland and other overseas opportunities outside of DFs…

The District Fellows Movement is the 16-20 year old members of the co-operative educational youth charity, the woodcraft folk, whose ideology is based on the principles of equality, peace, social justice and co-operation, with an emphasis on the empowerment of young people.
DF meetings usually consist of a group of like minded individuals meeting up at a regular time and place (someone's house, or a pub for instance, or even a community hall if the group is large enough) and taking part in usual woodcraft activities. These activities range from co-operative games, orgainising events, workshops and discussions, and general socialising!
The DF movement also meets up on a national basis frequently, to hold both social, educational events and business events allowing everyone to be involved in the running of DF's...
