Want cheaper travel to Winter Wonderland?

Dec 12, 2011 by     2 Comments    Posted under: Events

I’ve been trying to organise travel for my District DFs and I stumbled upon a deal which might help you get across the country.

For this deal you need some friends (DF’s have an abundance of them). It is called Group Save it is available on most national railways.

First get a group of people travelling together. (multiples of 4 work best)

Second go to your local station or call 08457 000 125 and ask for a group save ticket.

Third choose the train you want to travel on on the way there.

Fourth pay for 2 adult open returns and get up to 2 more for free!

Pluses
the price doesn’t change so they are just as cheap on December the 27th as they are on December the 1st
and travelling with others makes the journey far better.

Minuses
you can’t split up so must stay together
and you can’t use “Young Person Railcards” in conjunction with this offer.

Fidler “Money Saving Expert” *cough*
Blue skies and filled piggy banks.

I believe this is only for the south-west and london (http://www.groupsave.co.uk/ for map) so all you going to the midlands it won’t be much help :(

  • Fidler!

c2c, London Midland, Chiltern Railway, First Capital Connect, First Great Western,First ScotRail , East Midlands Trains, one,London Overground,Southeastern, Southern and South West Trains all have group save where as Arriva Trains Wales and CrossCountry also have similar deals.

So I believe people can get group save to the Midlands
