Bivvy on the Beach – Book Now!

Would you like to come to the most spectacular grassroots DF event of the year? Fancy sleeping out all night on a beautiful East coast beach with a bunch of fabulous woodies and hearing the waves roll in at night, cooking jacket potatoes on a campfire, playing in the lovely warm (lol) sea, and singing songs into the early hours. All for FREE? Then you’ve come to the right place.

The Eastern Region DF social will be all of these things and more. What better way to spend the day than on the beach, socialising, swimming and learning about craft and world issues. Workshops and training will be such a huge part of this event, but not in the conventional way – it will all be totally informal and fun. Explore a new learning environment  - the beach! – and help develop Young Kinsfolk links in the Eastern Region.

By night, we can have a woodie sing-a-long on the beach and indulge in much needed post-exam DF antics. There’ll be a campsite right next to the beach on which we will have about 6 tents plus a gazebo. This is where we can sleep if it rains, or if you don’t want to bivvy. There’ll be showers, loos and running water on site, rather more glamorous than your average bivvy.

The event is completely FREE for everyone attending, including all food, and dinners will cooked on BBQs and open fires. The bivvy/camping event will take place from Friday 29th June 2012 – Sunday 1st July 2012 at Long Beach campsite, Hemsby, Norfolk, which is right beside the beach. The nearest station is Great Yarmouth, but don’t book your trains until you’ve filled in the form and had confirmation. Travel bursaries may be provided on request.
