UPDATE: The Booking deadline has been extended because Ben is a nice guy – get your booking forms in by Sunday to get the best deal.
Word, 2 very shiny things for you today. The all singing all dancing Althing Info Pack and Coodinator Ben’s Althing Video. Althing 10? Well partly because its 2010 but mostly because this is the 10th anniversary of Althings!

The Info Pack Contents

The Pack is a cut above normal info packs and contains a vast armory of stuff:

  • WTF? – A crash course in All things Althing
  • Motions and Musings – The bulk of our discussions will revolve around these, everything submitted so far
  • Elections – The roles and the voting system laid out for all to see
  • Campaigns Elections – What cause will DFs learn about and stand for in the next 2 years?
  • Need to Know – Essential logistics
  • Action Report – Every motion from last year an what has (or hasn’t) been done about it

Something We Missed Out

This is Important! Aim to arrive at Althing as early as possible. People will be there at Midday so don’t be a stranger, we have stuff go get through on Friday night and the later you arrive the later we will be up getting through it. Aim for 4pm, arriving a bit later is OK but a few hours later is going to make it really hard (not least for you to find the venue after buses have stopped!)

    Our train gets in at 8PM, due to the fact that our colleges start that day and we can’t leave particularly early on the first day :/ This may be a problem for others in the south who are just starting college. We’re leaving really late on the sunday though coz of train tickets costing loads if we wanted to leave earlier.

    Seems like democracy will have to manage without us for a few hours…

    Hey, me too! my train wont be in untill 9.30pm because i start uni on placement next week, very upsetting but unavoidable.

    will we still be able to get busses?

    buses run until 23:35 from hebden bridge to todmorden, so you should be okay josie.
