562 days ago this website was revitalised and since that inception DFs has grown a great deal. In those 562 days we have had exactly 100 news articles on this website, this being the hundredth, and as I looked back through these articles I found so much of what makes me love DFs.

I found a movement with the events where I met so many amazing people brilliant in their range.

I found a movement with events it had never run before and events that have been attended by generations of DFs.

I found a movement with amazing opportunities to go outside itself with the IFM and the Big Lottery to name but two.

I found a movement with amazing opportunities within itself, from decision making events to polls showing a movement that is run by its members and for its members.

I found a movement with a sense of humour, Josh Dodd – Unbelievable Stud and our ill fated merger with the girl guides.

I found a movement that cares about the world around it with campaigns and discussions on numerous issues.

I found a movement that is creative and innovative in the way it does things.

I found a movement full of people doing amazing things, the Edinburgh Fringe, span that world with music, the videos, being trustees.

I found a movement that inspired lovely letters from Norway and the NDCS. I found a movement that is growing and trying new things.

I found a movement that inspires a huge love and dedication from its members. I found a movement that changes people’s lives.

This incredible diversity is part of what makes DFs so enchanting and one of its greatest strengths. I highly recommend looking through some of these old articles for the almost heady nostalgia that comes from unearthing something you had forgotten.
